Hear me out:
Jesus is the ultimately expression of God’s love for humanity. But Jesus is not the reason God loves you. If you don’t believe me, read Romans 5:8. It says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (emphasis mine).
Do you get how awesome that is? God loved us before we got saved and before Jesus died...

Yesterday a few friends and I hit up our downtown to do some outreach. At one point, I felt led to talk with a homeless man who walked by us (note: you don’t have to wait for a leading to talk with someone).
I introduced myself to him and learned that his name is Peter. He told us straight-up that he didn’t have time to chat because he was hungry and asked for a dollar to buy food....
